TSI iDEAHUB Launches the 3rd Call for Student Innovation Project Proposals

The iDEAHUB of the Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI) announces the 3rd call for student innovation project proposals within the framework of the European Regional

Development Fund project “Innovation Grants for Students of the Transport and Telecommunication Institute” (Project No. 1.1.1.7/1/25/A/004).

The aim of the call is to provide student teams with an opportunity to develop innovative and research-based ideas, test their viability, create prototypes and solutions, and gain practical experience in innovation, research, and entrepreneurship.

Who can apply?

  • The competition is open to student teams whose members are enrolled in bachelor’s, professional higher education, master’s, or doctoral study programmes
  • The programme also provides opportunities for eligible students from vocational and general education institutions, subject to the requirements set out in the competition regulations
  • The formation of interdisciplinary teams bringing together students from different educational thematic groups is particularly encouraged

Two opportunities to develop your idea

Two types of student innovation projects can be submitted:

  • “Small” Project – intended for the development and initial validation of an innovation or research idea. The aim is to test the viability of the idea and assess its further development potential. Available funding: up to EUR 1,200
  • “Large” Project – intended for the further development of an innovation or research idea based on an existing proof of concept, for example where the team already has an initial prototype, an MVP component, initial test results, or elements of a business model. Available funding: up to EUR 8,000

The implementation period for student innovation projects is 6 months.

What kinds of ideas are we looking for?

Applications are particularly welcome in areas such as:

  • information and communication technologies
  • digital society and transformation
  • smart logistics and transport
  • artificial intelligence
  • robotics
  • unmanned aerial vehicles and autonomous systems
  • image processing and recognition
  • digital twins
  • defence and security solutions
  • Internet of Things and embedded systems

At the project level, particular attention is given to ideas related to artificial intelligence technologies, internal and external security, and educational technologies.

What will student teams receive?

Participation in the iDEAHUB programme offers much more than funding for the implementation of an innovation idea. During the project, students will have access to:

  • project implementation funding of up to EUR 1,200 for a “Small” Project and up to EUR 8,000 for a “Large” Project
  • a monthly targeted scholarship for each student participating in the project team, in accordance with the concluded scholarship agreement
  • support from a project supervisor, mentors, and industry experts
  • consultations on innovation, technology, research, and entrepreneurship
  • access to the necessary infrastructure and testing environment
  • practical training and networking opportunities
  • cooperation with representatives of industry, research, and business
  • opportunities to publicly present project results and continue developing the idea after the project has ended

According to the current competition documentation, the monthly targeted scholarship is EUR 200 per month for bachelor’s, professional higher education and master’s students, as well as eligible secondary school and college students, and EUR 228 per month for doctoral students.
